Last month, we celebrated Serbia becoming our 9th Red Hat premier partner, and this has made us quite nostalgic for our most recent Red Hat achievements. By far the standouts of the year were the Red Hat Forums which we finished up for the season in January. It’s been some ride, and the best is still to come!
Devoteam kicked off Red Hat Forum season back in September live from Zurich with Red Hat CEO Jim Whitehurst. Since then, our Digital Transformakers have been on a tour of Europe, via Breda, Geneva, London, Paris, Madrid and Munich, at the open source events for the Red Hat community, offering first-hand solutions driving innovation and digital transformation, as well as giving an insight or two of our own.
Our country experts made sure to bring their A-Game to dive deep into DevOps during the forums, using 3D printers, the App Factory, Lego, and the jamboard by Google, to demonstrate our success stories.
The UK’s Head Of Devops, Graham Zabel enlightened London audiences by examining what makes adoption so challenging and discussed how these challenges can be overcome effectively to enable and realise the gains from DevOps. Cedric Girard, Open Source Principal Consultant from France gave his feedback on an Openshift project with BPI, and Philipp Stiebling, Principal Consultant from Germany presented our collaboration with Telekom around the “Managed Dynamic App Factory” an openshift platform for small and medium sized business companies.
But that’s not all! In Munich, we proudly co-hosted the Red Hat Innovation Lab, where our Red Hat Partner Manager Michael Marz played an active role as the “product owner”, teaching attendees how to ramp up the pace of innovation. And what a better way to demonstrate agile thinking, than inviting participants to build a Red Hat Lego city?
Come with questions. Leave with ideas
Red Hat invited attendees to “Come with questions. Leave with ideas”, and the forums were true playgrounds of information, helping participants to understand why and how they should choose Red Hat and its partners for their digital transformation.
Margaret Dawson, VP for product marketing at Red Hat, gave a very interesting keynote in Breda which highlighted how adaptability to change is the most important success factor for survival. According to her, organisations today need to invest more in innovation, be risk takers and create a culture of collaboration.
Why is this important? As Dawson explained, quite simply, high performing companies have continuous deployment processes in place and deploy more frequently than less performant organisations as they use open source technology on a wide scale, leveraging the community.
